the piece, consisting of a world map printed on a flexible fabric, attempts to present a different cartography. maps are considered as scientific documents and also as aesthetic objects, shaped by a number of formal choices. supposedly objective, yet they incorporate cultural values and political beliefs. the piece can be fixed to a wall - streched and distorted - with a number of pins, some of them inscribed with personal pronouns. the user/viewer decides where to position them on the map. it offers a possibility to examine cultural issues ranging from personal identity to international politics by combining verbal, visual and symbolic elements.
