| this performance took place during the annual "summer fest" commemoration at the akademie schloss solitude in stuttgart, germany. a raffle with small actions or performances for the invited guests took place during the party. the concept of "approx. 15 min." originates from the phrase of andy warhol. it questions the effects of instant fame and the recognition of oneself facing the "other/others" demanding interaction. in this performance, the winner of an award instituted by the artist, would receive the american flag and flowers from the hand of mickey mouse. he would then be accompanied by mickey mouse together with "journalists", "photographers" and "film crews", during approx 15 min. creating a paparazzi effect. this piece seeks to destabilize the relations of identity between the persons involved in the action and the assisting audience. |
